About This Service

Skills Are Identified Before
They Are Assumed

Most students are asked to choose a career path before they have ever been given the space to understand what they are genuinely good at.

Five dimensions are explored across multiple sessions — cognitive reasoning, creative expression, technical aptitude, interpersonal ability, and analytical thinking.

"Knowing what you are naturally good at is not a luxury-it is the foundation of every meaningful career decision."

The Process

How Skill Identification Is
Carried Out at LisMorient

A five-stage cycle is followed-from pre-session profiling to periodic review-so every skill is surfaced with evidence, not assumption.

01

Pre-Session Profile

Academic records, subject preferences, extracurricular involvement, and initial self-reported interests are collected before the first session-giving the mentor a baseline to work from.

02

Structured Discovery

Multiple one-on-one sessions are conducted using targeted exercises, scenario-based questions, and structured reflection prompts-each designed to surface specific skill clusters.

03

Pattern Analysis

Responses, performance on tasks, and observed behaviour across sessions are analysed to identify consistent patterns-revealing where the student's strongest natural capacities lie.

04

Career Alignment

Identified skill clusters are mapped to relevant career fields, academic streams, and professional environments-showing the student which directions will feel natural versus which will require sustained effort.

05

Review & Evolution

Skills evolve with exposure and education. The profile is revisited every six months so that new strengths developed through learning, projects, or activities are incorporated into the career direction.

Why It Matters

Skill Identification Changes
Everything That Follows

Six ways that knowing a student's real skills changes the quality of every career and academic decision made afterward.

Decisions Are Made With Evidence

Skill identification removes guesswork from career decisions. Every stream or career recommendation is backed by an observed, documented skill profile-not a parent's aspiration or a teacher's suggestion.

Wrong Paths Are Avoided Early

When skills are identified before stream selection, students do not spend years in a field that fights against their natural aptitude. Mismatch is caught before it becomes regret.

Motivation Becomes Self-Sustaining

A student placed in a direction that aligns with their real skills does not need to be pushed to study-the subject itself becomes interesting because they are naturally wired for it.

Parents and Students Are Aligned

When a skill profile is visible and documented, conversations between parents and students about the future become more productive and less emotionally charged.

Hidden Strengths Are Discovered

Many students carry genuine abilities in areas that are never assessed by school exams-creative intelligence, interpersonal leadership, analytical precision-all surfaced through the process.

Career Fit Is Improved Long-Term

Skills identified early become the foundation for a career that is not just successful on paper but genuinely satisfying-because it matches who the student actually is.
